We all know how crazy it gets when planning for a wedding. Imagine a bride doing all the planning from abroad. Today’s bride, Rachelle, did a fab job in orchestrating the wedding preparations — from researching to booking the vendors — while outside the country. “Thank God for internet!,” she says.
She was also blessed to have family help her with the other details, her mom lovingly prepared the favors and giveaways. She shares, “Our wedding giveaways were all done by hand by my Mom, who didn’t accept any help from me or from anyone at all. It’s 160 mason jars filled with chocolates and cookies. She bought the jars, cut all the chocolate bars , cookies and candies and filled the jars, cut all the cloth to tiny round pieces, tied all the card to ribbons all by herself.”
I always love hearing about a wedding that’s been helped prepped up by the whole family. It gives about a feeling of intimate and filial affection we Filipinos are so known for. It makes the wedding a true celebration of love where every kin has taken part of. It gives the wedding a whole lot more meaning, it makes it more memorable, more special.
Despite having a long distance relationship, Rachelle was thankful that everything just fell into the right place. “Being the funny guy that he was, he proposed to me by hiding the ring in a french fries bag from Jollibee. I just landed home, my first request from him was to buy first my fave Jollibee spaghetti because long flights makes me really hungry but I don’t want to do a stopover at a restaurant. My engagement ring is actually his mom’s engagement ring.” And with that, these two were just grateful to be married to one another!
Congratulations Rachelle and Pol! And thanks to A&A Photography for capturing this lovely duo’s big day! Here are the rest of the photos… Enjoy!
